Zulya is a special breed of musician. Her chilling and worldly voice espouses sentiments of other places and times, in languages both familiar and foreign. Having moved to Australia from her native Tatarstan in central Russia 10 years ago, she has crafted her own unmistakable sound of world music, deeply rooted in Russian and Tatar folk song, and sung in those languages, as well as English.

Zed Major are on a roll right now. These local rockers have been playing the Darwin circuit heavily for the past year and all their hard work is starting to pay off. With two local shows on the cards in early December before flying down to Adelaide to play a pre-Christmas Scorcher Fest (an SA-based touring music festival), they’ll be rounding out the year nicely.
